OUR MISSION
Christian Pen Pals Ministry is committed to earnestly caring about each of the inmates who reach out to us for Christian support and friendship. We work to provide them with a Christian pen pal who will write regularly and minister to their need, as the Lord leads. We also provide prisoners with resources for their common needs and network with ministers and churches to help them acquire Christian re-entry support for their release.
Prisoners have many needs; the greatest need is to know someone cares about them, to know they are loved. Our ministry is therefore focused on proclaiming the Good News of JESUS CHRIST; His forgiveness and His great love for them. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
ABOUT PEN PAL CONNECTION
Pen Pal Connection was begun spring 1998 as an extension of a 10-year "mom & pops" ministry of correspondence. We have witnessed God's working in the lives of the prisoners through a one on one correspondence with a caring friend on the outside. Some inmates have no one; have never known real love. Many of the inmates who contact us were raised Christian but rebelled and turned away. Friends and family often have given up on them. God has them in a place for His touch of mercy, drawing them to repentance. They are searching for hope and for answers to life. This gives us the opportunity to share Christ, knowing all answers are found in Him.
Ricky, one of the inmates, wrote in his testimony " that prison is one of God's secret places. That is where GOD works to bring lost souls to repentance and salvation in Christ."
Jesus has a special place in His heart for hurting people and He calls His followers to minister to their need. Jesus says, "I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me." Then He explains: "In as much as you did it to the least of my brethren, you did it to Me." Matt. 25:35-36 Please also read Psalms 107:9-16, Isaiah 42:7, and 2 Corin. 5:17.
